Andrew Gottlieb

Best selling author Andrew Gottlieb shares how he grew a for-benefit company aligning with some of the world’s top purpose-driven organizations.

As the CEO and Founder of No Typical Moments, Andrew Gottlieb’s company is one that offers digital marketing solutions to four benefit organizations. His company donates 1% of all revenue to non-profits working on environmental issues. His success does not thrive solely on his marketing business, but he is also author the of The Two Week Notice: How To Discover Your Passion, Quit Your Job, and Impact Our World.

Passion Play:

His passion is infused with his own personal story. Andrew followed the typical internship path in college, as he interned on Wall Street one summer. All of his internships were so profit driven, as he realized he had no desire to work in those fields. After having his “dream job” in the sports industry, I realized I was not benefitting people on this planet. So my passion was to step out of the box I was in to find discover my passion of benefitting people in the world.

Fail Forward:

One secret to help your social media oriented strategy is to identify whether you are doing it from a corporate marketing stand point, which should be done through a reactive approach, or direct sales, which should be done through a proactive approach. Identifying the difference between these two approaches will greatly benefit your social media strategy.

Lightbulb Moment:

In December, when he launched their first mobile app, Andrew’s light bulb moment was when he realized he actually runs an organization that generates revenue. He would tell people what his company was doing, but it was never anything tangible that he could show someone until that moment.

Success Hack:

Andrew experiences failure on a weekly basis. He talks about a recent experience when he did not communicate effectively with a team member and was communicating out of fear than love. Andrew realized how he used to feel in those situations as an intern and how important it is that he shows more compassion and empathy towards others.

Randomness Round:

Andrew likes to do something out of his comfort zone right when he wakes up! It really sets the expectation for the rest of the day.
